Chapter 26: The Killing of the Demoness Tāṭakā
Text 1.26.35
ततो मुनिवरः प्रीतस्ताटकावधतोषितः।
मूर्ध्नि राममुपाघ्राय इदं वचनमब्रवीत्॥
tato muni-varaḥ prītas tāṭakā-vadha-toṣitaḥ
mūrdhni rāmam upāghrāya idaṁ vacanam abravīt
tataḥ muni-varaḥ = the best of sages; prītaḥ = was pleased; tāṭakā-vadha-toṣitaḥ = happy with the killing of Tāṭakā; mūrdhni = head; rāmam = Rāma’s; upāghrāya = he smelt; idam = these; vacanam = words; abravīt = and spoke.
The best of sages was pleased. Happy with the killing of Tāṭakā, he smelt Rāma’s head and spoke these words.
