Chapter 26: The Killing of the Demoness Tāṭakā
Text 1.26.6
एवमुक्त्वा धनुर्मध्ये बद्ध्वा मुष्टिमरिन्दमः।
ज्याघोषमकरोत्तीव्रं दिशः शब्देन नादयन्॥
evam uktvā dhanur madhye baddhvā muṣṭim arindamaḥ
jyā-ghoṣam akarot tīvraṁ diśaḥ śabdena nādayan
evam = thus; uktvā = having spoken; dhanuḥ madhye baddhvā = held the middle of His bow; muṣṭim = with His fist; arindamaḥ = the destroyer of foes; jyā-ghoṣam akarot = and twanged His bowstring; tīvram = loudly; diśaḥ = in all directions; śabdena nādayan = reverberating.
Having spoken thus, the destroyer of foes held the middle of His bow with His fist and twanged His bowstring loudly, reverberating in all directions.
