Chapter 29: The History of Siddhāśrama
Text 1.29.29

viriñca-bhava-śakra-adyāḥ = Brahmā, Śiva, Indra, other demigods; yoginaḥ ca = transcendentalists; sura-asurāḥ = suras, asuras; yam = whom; na =not; jānanti = do know; vedāḥ ca = and the Vedas; saḥ eṣaḥ = this is the; viṣṇuḥ = Viṣṇu; avyayaḥ = eternal.

This is the eternal Viṣṇu whom Brahmā, Śiva, Indra, other demigods, transcendentalists, suras, asuras and the Vedas do not know.1

1 Lord Viṣṇu is referred to here as avyaya or “eternal” because while the demigods are actually positions that can be occupied by any eligible living entity, Viṣṇu is not a position that can be occupied by anyone. Viṣṇu is an eternal person.
