सा तेन रुधिरौघेण वेदिर्जज्वाल मण्डिता।
दृष्ट्वा वेदिं तथाभूतां सानुजः क्रोधसंयुतः।
सहसाभिद्रुतो रामस्तानपश्यत्ततो दिवि॥
sā tena rudhiraugheṇa vedir jajvāla maṇḍitā
dṛṣṭvā vediṁ tathā-bhūtāṁ sānujaḥ krodha-saṁyutaḥ
sahasābhidruto rāmas tān apaśyat tato divi
sā = the; tena = with that; rudhira-ogheṇa = shower of blood; vediḥ = sacrificial altar; jajvāla = blazed; maṇḍitā = adorned; dṛṣṭvā = seeing; vedim tathā-bhūtām = the altar thus; sa-anujaḥ = Rāma and His younger brother; krodha-saṁyutaḥ = became angry; sahasā = immediately; abhidrutaḥ = and rushed towards them; rāmaḥ = Lord Rāma; tān = the rākṣasas; apaśyat = saw; tataḥ divi = in the sky.
Adorned with that shower of blood, the sacrificial altar blazed. Seeing the altar thus, Lord Rāma and His younger brother became angry. Rāma immediately saw the rākṣasas in the sky and rushed towards them.
