Chapter 31: Viśvāmitra, Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa Depart for Mithilā
Text 1.31.15
स्वस्ति वोऽस्तु गमिष्यामि सिद्धः सिद्धाश्रमादहम्।
उत्तरे जाह्नवीतीरे हिमवन्तं शिलोच्चयम्॥
svasti vo ’stu gamiṣyāmi siddhaḥ siddhāśramād aham
uttare jāhnavī-tīre himavantaṁ śiloccayam
svasti vaḥ astu = auspiciousness unto both of You; gamiṣyāmi = I will go; siddhaḥ = I have accomplished my purposes; siddhāśramāt aham = from Siddhāśrama; uttare jāhnavī-tīre = on the northern bank of the Gaṅgā; himavantam śiloccayam = to the Himavān Mountain.
Auspiciousness unto both of You! I have accomplished my purposes. I will go from Siddhāśrama to the Himavān Mountain on the northern bank of the Gaṅgā.
It should be understood that Himavān is on the way to Mithilā.
