Chapter 32: The History of Kuśanābha and His Daughters
Text 1.32.16
चलं हि यौवनं नित्यं मानुषेषु विशेषतः।
अक्षयं यौवनं प्राप्ता अमर्यश्च भविष्यथ॥
calaṁ hi yauvanaṁ nityaṁ mānuṣeṣu viśeṣataḥ
akṣayaṁ yauvanaṁ prāptā amaryaś ca bhaviṣyatha
calam hi = decays; yauvanam = youth; nityam = at all time; mānuṣeṣu = among humans; viśeṣataḥ = specifically; akṣayam = inexhaustible; yauvanam = youth; prāptāḥ = having attained as my wives; amaryaḥ ca = immortal; bhaviṣyatha = you will become.
Youth decays at all time, specifically among humans. Having attained inexhaustible youth as my wives, you will become immortal.
