Chapter 32: The History of Kuśanābha and His Daughters
Text 1.32.18
अन्तश्चरसि भूतानां सर्वेषां त्वं सुरोत्तम।
प्रभावज्ञाः स्म ते सर्वाः किमस्मानवमन्यसे॥
antaś carasi bhūtānāṁ sarveṣāṁ tvaṁ surottama
prabhāva-jñāḥ sma te sarvāḥ kim asmān avamanyase
antaḥ = within; carasi = you wander; bhūtānām = creatures; sarveṣām = all; tvam = in the form of the life-airs you; sura-uttama = O best of the demigods; prabhāvajñāḥ sma = who know capabilities; te = your; sarvāḥ = all of; kim = why; asmān = us; avamanyase = do deride.
O best of the demigods, in the form of the life-airs you wander within all creatures. Why do you deride all of us who know your capabilities?
