Chapter 32: The History of Kuśanābha and His Daughters
Text 1.32.19
कुशनाभसुताः सर्वाः समर्थास्त्वां सुरोत्तम।
स्थानाच्च्यावयितुं देवं रक्षामस्तु तपो वयम्॥
kuśanābha-sutāḥ sarvāḥ samarthās tvāṁ surottama
sthānāc cyāvayituṁ devaṁ rakṣāmas tu tapo vayam
kuśanābha-sutāḥ = the daughters of Kuśanābha; sarvāḥ = all; samarthāḥ = are capable; tvām = you; sura-uttama = O best of the demigods; sthānāt = from your officiating status; cyāvayitum = of making fall; devam = a demigod; rakṣāmaḥ = are protective of; tu = however; tapaḥ = [the piety accrued from our] austerities; vayam = we.
O best of the demigods, all the daughters of Kuśanābha are capable of making you, a demigod, fall from your officiating status. However, we are protective of [the piety accrued from our] austerities.
