Chapter 33: Kuśanābha’s Daughters marry Brahmadatta
Text 1.33.15

परितुष्टं मुनिं ज्ञात्वा गन्धर्वी मधुरस्वरा।
उवाच परमप्रीता वाक्यज्ञा वाक्यकोविदम्॥

parituṣṭaṁ muniṁ jñātvā gandharvī madhura-svarā
uvāca
parama-prītā vākyajñā vākya-kovidam

parituṣṭam munim jñātvā = understanding that the safe was very satisfied; gandharvīḥ = the gandharvī; madhura-svarā = with a sweet voice; uvāca = she spoke the following; parama-prītā = was greatly pleased; vākyajñā = and knowledge of how to speak; vākya-kovidam = the sage who was himself expert in speech.

Understanding that the sage was very satisfied, the gandharvī was greatly pleased. With a sweet voice and knowledge of how to speak, she spoke the following to the sage, who was himself expert in speech.

Vākya-kovidam indicates that the great sage was capable of good speech.
