एवमुक्ता महर्षयो विश्वामित्रेण धीमता।
पश्यन्तस्ते प्रयाता वै वनानि विविधानि च॥
evam uktā maha-rṣayo viśvāmitreṇa dhīmatā
paśyantas te prayātā vai vanāni vividhāni ca
evam = thus; uktāḥ = were addressed; mahā-ṛṣayaḥ= great sages; viśvāmitreṇa dhīmatā = by the intellligent Viśvāmitra; paśyantaḥ = while observing; te = they; prayātāḥ vai = departed; vanāni = of forests on the way; vividhāni ca = various kinds of.
When the intelligent Viśvāmitra addressed the great sages thus, they departed while observing various kinds of forests [on the way].
