Chapter 36: Umā Curses the Demigods
Text 1.36.18
एवमुक्तः सुरपतिः प्रमुमोच महीतले।
तेजसा पृथिवी येन व्याप्ता सगिरिकानना॥
evam uktaḥ sura-patiḥ pramumoca mahī-tale
tejasā pṛthivī yena vyāptā sagiri-kānanā
evam uktaḥ = being addressed thus; sura-patiḥ = the Rudra, the master of the demigods; pramumoca = released his prowess; mahī-tale = on earth; tejasā = prowess; pṛthivī = the entire earth; yena = that; vyāptā = filled; sagiri-kānanā = including its mountains and gardens.
Being addressed thus, Lord Rudra, the master of the demigods, released his prowess on earth. That prowess filled the entire earth including its mountains and gardens.
