धर्मयुक्तमिदं ब्रह्मन्कथितं परमं त्वया।
दुहितुः शैलराजस्य ज्येष्ठाया वक्तुमर्हसि।
विस्तरं विस्तरज्ञोऽसि दिव्यमानुषसम्भवम्॥
dharma-yuktam idaṁ brahman kathitaṁ paramaṁ tvayā
duhituḥ śaila-rājasya jyeṣṭhāyā vaktum arhasi
vistaraṁ vistarajño ’si divya-mānuṣa-sambhavam
dharma-yuktam idam = in a manner that awards the listeners pious credits; brahman = O brāhmaṇa; kathitam = have spoken; paramam = excellently; tvayā = you; duhituḥ = daughter; śaila-rājasya = of the king of mountains; jyeṣṭhāyāḥ = of the elder; vaktum arhasi = kindly describe; vistaram = in detail; vistarajñaḥ asi = for you know those details; divya-mānuṣa-sambhavam = the appearance in the celestial and human worlds.
O brāhmaṇa, you have spoken excellently in a manner that awards the listeners with pious credits. Kindly describe in detail how the elder daughter of the king of mountains took birth in the celestial and human worlds, for you know those details.1
