Chapter 37: The History of Skanda
Text 1.37.31
गृहीत्वा क्षीरमेकाह्ना सुकुमारवपुस्तदा।
अजयत्स्वेन वीर्येण दैत्यसैन्यगणान् विभुः॥
gṛhītvā kṣīram ekāhnā sukumāra-vapus tadā
ajayat svena vīryeṇa daitya-sainya-gaṇān vibhuḥ
gṛhītvā = having accepted; kṣīram = their milk; eka-ahnā = within one day of his birth; sukumāra-vapuḥ tadā = he grove to be a young boy; ajayat = conquered; svena vīryeṇa = by his power; daitya-sainya-gaṇān = the army of the daityas; vibhuḥ = then that capable one.
Having accepted their milk within one day of his birth, he grew to be a young boy. Then that capable one conquered the army of the daityas by his power.
Though a young boy, he conquered the daityas.
