Chapter 37: The History of Skanda
Text 1.37.34
भक्तश्च यः कार्तिकेये काकुत्स्थ भुवि मानवः।
आयुष्मान्पुत्रपौत्रैश्च स्कन्दसालोक्यतां व्रजेत्॥
bhaktaś ca yaḥ kārtikeye kākutstha bhuvi mānavaḥ
āyuṣmān putra-pautraiś ca skanda-sālokyatāṁ vrajet
bhaktaḥ ca yaḥ = who becomes a devotee; kārtikeye = of Kārtikeya; kākutstha = Kakutstha; bhuvi = on earth; mānavaḥ = that man; āyuṣmān = becomes long lived; putra-pautraiḥ ca = with his sons and grandsons [in this life]; skanda-sālokyatām = [and his next life] the planet of Skanda; vrajet = attains.
O Kākutstha, that man who becomes a devotee of Kārtikeya become long-lived with his sons and grandsons [in this life and in his next life] attains the planet of Skanda.
Incidentally, the sage describes the result of devotion to Skanda.
