Chapter 38: The History of Sagara
Text 1.38.8

एका जनयिता तात पुत्रं वंशकरं तव।
षष्ठिं पुत्रसहस्राणि अपरा जनयिष्यति॥

ekā janayitā tāta putraṁ vaṁśakaraṁ tava
ṣaṣṭhiṁ
putra-sahasrāṇi aparā janayiṣyati

ekā = one of your wives; janayitā = will give birth; tāta = my child; putram = to a son; vaṁśakaram = who will continue your lineage; tava = your; ṣaṣṭhim putra-sahasrāṇi = to sixty thousand sons; aparā = and the other; janayiṣyati = will give birth.

My child, one of your wives will give birth to a son who will continue your lineage, and the other will give birth to 60,000 sons.

Bhṛgu Muni called Sagara tāta (“my child”) out of paternal affection.
