Chapter 39: Sagara’s Sons Search for the Sacrificial Horse
Text 1.39.17
इत्युक्ता हृष्टमनसो राजपुत्रा महाबलाः।
जग्मुर्महीतलं राम पितुर्वचनयन्त्रिताः॥
ity uktā hṛṣṭa-manaso rāja-putrā mahā-balāḥ
jagmur mahī-talaṁ rāma pitur vacana-yantritāḥ
iti uktāḥ = being addressed thus; hṛṣṭa-manasaḥ = their mind delighted; rāja-putrāḥ = princes; mahā-balāḥ = the greatly powerful; jagmuḥ = went all over; mahī-talam = the surface of the earth; rāma = O Rāma; pituḥ = of their father; vacana-yantritāḥ = on the order.
O Rāma, being addressed thus, the greatly powerful princes, their minds delighted, went [all over] the surface of the earth on the order of their father.
