एवं प्रशस्यमानौ तौ तपःश्लाघ्यैर्महात्मभिः।
संरक्ततरमत्यर्थं मधुरं तावगायताम्॥
evaṁ praśasyamānau tau tapaḥ-ślāghyair mahātmabhiḥ
saṁraktataram atyarthaṁ madhuraṁ tāv agāyatām
evam = thus; praśasyamānau = being praised; tau = they; tapaḥ-ślāghyaiḥ = and who were themselves praised due to their austerities; mahā-ātmabhiḥ = by greatly intelligent souls who are non-envious specialists; saṁraktataram = and very nice rāgas; atyartham = with extreme; madhuram = sweetness; tau =they; agāyatām = sang.
Being praised thus by greatly intelligent souls, nonenvious specialists who were themselves praised due to their austerities, they sang with extreme sweetness and very nice rāgas.
When the sages glorified the singers, they became more enthused to sing excellently.
