Chapter 40: Lord Kapila Punishes Sagara’s Sons
Text 1.40.19
त्ततः प्रदक्षिणं कृत्वा सगरस्य महात्मनः।
षष्टिः पुत्रसहस्राणि पश्चिमां बिभिदुर्दिशम्॥
tataḥ pradakṣiṇaṁ kṛtvā sagarasya mahātmanaḥ
ṣaṣṭiḥ putra-sahasrāṇi paścimāṁ bibhidur diśam
tataḥ pradakṣiṇam kṛtvā = after circumambulating it; sagarasya mahā-ātmanaḥ = of the great soul Sagara; ṣaṣṭiḥ putra-sahasrāṇi = the sixty thousand sons; paścimām bibhiduḥ diśam = dug through the western region (of the earth).
After circumambulating it, the 60,000 sons of the great soul Sagara dug through the western region (of the earth).
