Chapter 40: Lord Kapila Punishes Sagara’s Sons
Text 1.40.7
ततो भित्त्वा महीं सर्वे कृत्वा चापि प्रदक्षिणम्।
सहिताः सागराः सर्वे पितरं वाक्यमब्रुवन्॥
tato bhittvā mahīṁ sarve kṛtvā cāpi pradakṣiṇam
sahitāḥ sāgarāḥ sarve pitaraṁ vākyam abruvan
tataḥ bhittvā = having pierced through the earth; mahīṁ sarve kṛtvā ca api pradakṣiṇam = having circumambulated it; sahitāḥ = assembled together; sāgarāḥ = the sons of Sagara; sarve = all; pitaram = to their father; vākyam = the following word; abruvan = and spoke.
Having pierced through the earth and having circumambulated it, all the sons of Sagara assembled together and spoke the following words to their father.
