Chapter 41: Aṁśumān Searches for His Uncles and the Horse

दैत्यदानवराक्षोभिः पिशाचपतगोरगैः।
पूज्यमानं महातेजा दिशागजमपश्यत॥
daitya-dānava-rākṣobhiḥ piśāca-patagoragaiḥ
pūjyamānaṁ mahā-tejā diśā-gajam apaśyata
daitya-dānava-rākṣobhiḥ = by daityas, dānavas, rākṣasas; piśāca-pataga-uragaiḥ = piśācas, birds and snakes; pūjyamānam = it was worshiped; mahā-tejāḥ = Aṁśumān of great prowess; diśā-gajam = the earth guarding a region of cardinal directions; apaśyata = saw.
Aṁśumān of great prowess saw the elephant guarding a region of the cardinal directions. It was worshipped by daityas, dānavas, rākṣasas, piśācas, birds and snakes.
