Chapter 43: Gaṅgā Descends to the Earth
Text 1.43.13

अनेन तोषितश्चाभूदत्यन्तं रघुनन्दन।
विससर्ज ततो गङ्गां हरो बिन्दुसरः प्रति॥

anena toṣitaś cābhūd atyantaṁ raghu-nandana
visasarja
tato gaṅgāṁ haro bindu-saraḥ prati

anena = with the king’s austerity; toṣitaḥ ca = happy; abhūt = became; atyantam = extremely; raghu-nandana = O beloved of the Raghus; visasarja = he released; tataḥ = and so; gaṅgām = Gaṅgā; haraḥ = Lord Śiva; bindu-saraḥ = Bindu-saras; prati = towards.

O beloved of the Raghus, Lord Śiva became extremely happy with the king’s austerity and so he released Gaṅgā towards Bindu-saras.

Bindu-saras is a lake created by Lord Brahmā in the Himālayas.
