Chapter 43: Gaṅgā Descends to the Earth
Text 1.43.41

ततस्तुष्टो महातेजाः श्रोत्राभ्यामसृजत्पुनः।

tatas tuṣṭo mahā-tejāḥ śrotrābhyām asṛjat punaḥ

tataḥ = after she was made his daughter; tuṣṭaḥ = was satisfied; mahā-tejāḥ = the sage of great prowess; śrotrābhyām = through his ears; asṛjat = he released her; punaḥ = then.

After she was made his daughter, the sage of great prowess was satisfied. He then released her through his ears.

Among the apertures of a man’s body, the purest apertures are the ears. Therefore he released her through his ears.
