Chapter 44: Bhagīratha Delivers his Uncles
Text 1.44.13
यच्च गङ्गावतरणं त्वया कृतमरिन्दम।
अनेन च भवान्प्राप्तो धर्मस्यायतनं महत्॥
yac ca gaṅgāvataraṇaṁ tvayā kṛtam arindama
anena ca bhavān prāpto dharmasyāyatanaṁ mahat
yat ca = and; gaṅga-avataraṇam = the descent of Gaṅgā; tvayā = by your; kṛtam = causing; arindama = O subduer of foes; anena ca bhavān = you; prāptaḥ = have attained; dharmasya = of piety; āyatanam = the foundation; mahat = great.
O subduer of foes, and by your causing the descent of Gaṅgā, you have attained the great foundation of piety.
