Chapter 44: Bhagīratha Delivers his Uncles
Text 1.44.16
इत्येवमुक्त्वा देवेशः सर्वलोकपितामहः।
यथागतं तथागच्छद्देवलोकं महायशाः॥
ity evam uktvā deveśaḥ sarva-loka-pitāmahaḥ
yathāgataṁ tathāgacchad deva-lokaṁ mahā-yaśāḥ
iti evam = thus; uktvā = having spoken; deva-īśaḥ = the Lord of the devas; sarva-loka-pitāmahaḥ = [and] the grandfather of all the worlds; yathā = just as; āgatam = he had arrived; tathā agacchat = left; deva-lokam = for his celestial abode alone; mahā-yaśāḥ = the greatly famous Lord Brahmā.
Having spoken thus, the greatly famous Lord Brahmā, the Lord of the devas and the grandfather of all the worlds, left for his celestial abode alone, just as he had arrived.
