Chapter 45: The Churning of the Milk Ocean
Text 1.45.13

तस्य तद् वचनं श्रुत्वा रामस्य मुनिपुङ्गवः।
आख्यातुं तत्समारेभे विशालस्य पुरातनम्॥

tasya tad vacanaṁ śrutvā rāmasya muni-puṅgavaḥ
ākhyātuṁ
tat samārebhe viśālasya purātanam

tasya tat vacanam śrutvā rāmasya = upon hearing the words of Rāma; muni-puṅgavaḥ = the best of sages; ākhyātum = to speak about; tat = the; samārebhe = began; viśālasya = pertaining to the city Viśālā; purātanam = historical events.

Upon hearing the words of Rāma, the best of sages began to speak about the historical events pertaining to the city Viśālā.

Sage Viśvāmitra began to answer Lord Rāma’s first question about the glory of Viśālā.
