Chapter 45: The Churning of the Milk Ocean
Text 1.45.27
प्रविवेशाथ पातालं मन्थानः पर्वतोत्तमः।
ततो देवाः सगन्धर्वास्तुष्टुवुर्मधुसूदनम्॥
praviveśātha pātālaṁ manthānaḥ parvatottamaḥ
tato devāḥ sagandharvās tuṣṭuvur madhusūdanam
praviveśa atha = then sank; pātālam = to Pātāla; manthānaḥ = being used as a churning rod; parvata-uttamaḥ = that best of mountains; tataḥ = then; devāḥ = the devas; sa-gandharvāḥ = and gandharvas; tuṣṭuvuḥ = offered prayers; madhusūdanam = to Lord Madhusūdana.
That best of mountains, being used as a churning rod, then sank to Pātāla. The devas and gandharvas then offered prayers to Lord Madhusūdana.
