Chapter 45: The Churning of the Milk Ocean
Text 1.45.29
इति श्रुत्वा हृषीकेशः कामठं रूपमास्थितः।
पर्वतं पृष्ठतः कृत्वा शिश्ये तत्रोदधौ हरिः॥
iti śrutvā hṛṣīkeśaḥ kāmaṭhaṁ rūpam āsthitaḥ
parvataṁ pṛṣṭhataḥ kṛtvā śiśye tatrodadhau hariḥ
iti śrutvā = hearing their words; hṛṣīkeśaḥ = Lord Hṛṣīkeśa; kāmaṭham rūpam āsthitaḥ = manifested His form of a tortoise; parvatam = the mountain; pṛṣṭhataḥ = on His back; kṛtvā = keeping; śiśye = rested; tatra udadhau = in the ocean; hariḥ = Lord Hari.
Hearing their words, Lord Hṛṣīkeśa manifested His form of a tortoise. Lord Hari rested in the ocean keeping the mountain on His back.
