Chapter 45: The Churning of the Milk Ocean

षष्ठिः कोट्योऽभवंस्तासामप्सराणां सुवर्चसाम्।
असङ्ख्येयास्तु काकुत्स्थ यास्तासां परिचारिकाः॥
ṣaṣṭhiḥ koṭyo ’bhavaṁs tāsām apsarāṇāṁ suvarcasām
asaṅkhyeyās tu kākutstha yās tāsāṁ paricārikāḥ
ṣaṣṭhiḥ koṭyo abhavan tāsām = there were 600,000,000; apsarāṇām = apsarās; suvarcasām = very brilliant; asaṅkhyeyāḥ tu = innumerable; kākutstha = O descendant of Kakutstha; yāḥ tāsām = their; paricārikāḥ = were their maidservants.
There were 600,000,000 very brilliant apsarās. O descendant of Kakutstha, innumerable were their maidservants.
These 600,000,000 apasarās were the chief apsarās.
