Chapter 45: The Churning of the Milk Ocean
Text 1.45.47
अथ तस्य कृते राम महानासीत्कुलक्षयः।
अदितेस्तु ततः पुत्रा दितेः पुत्रानसूदयन्॥
atha tasya kṛte rāma mahān āsīt kula-kṣayaḥ
adites tu tataḥ putrā diteḥ putrān asūdayan
atha tasya kṛte = to get it; rāma = O Rāma; mahān = great; āsīt kula-kṣayaḥ = destruction of the dynasty took place; aditeḥ tu tataḥ = Aditi’s; putrāḥ = sons; diteḥ = Diti’s; putrān = sons; asūdayan = attacked.
O Rāma, great destruction of the dynasty took place to get it. Aditi’s sons attacked Diti’s sons.
There was largescale destruction on both sides. That is described in the second half of the verse.
