Chapter 46: Diti’s vow to kill Indra
Text 1.46.22

प्राञ्जलिर्वज्रसहितो दितिं शक्रोऽभ्यभाषत।
अशुचिर्देवि सुप्तासि पादयोः कृतमूर्धजा॥

prāñjalir vajra-sahito ditiṁ śakro ’bhyabhāṣata
aśucir
devi suptāsi pādayoḥ kṛta-mūrdhajā

prāñjaliḥ = joining his palms together in supplication; vajra-sahitaḥ = with his thunderbolt in hand; ditim = Diti; śakraḥ = Indra; abhyabhāṣata = told; aśuciḥ = you were in an unclean condition; devi = O goddess; suptā asi = you had fallen asleep; pādayoḥ = on your feet; kṛta-mūrdhajā = with your hair.

Joining his palms together in supplication, Indra with his thunderbolt in hand, told Diti: O goddess, you were in an unclean condition. You had fallen asleep with your hair on your feet.
