Chapter 52: Śabalā, Vasiṣṭha’s Wish-fulfilling Cow
Text 1.52.15

एवमुक्तो वसिष्ठेन विश्वामित्रो महामतिः।
कृतमित्यब्रवीद्राजा प्रियवाक्येन मे त्वया॥

evam ukto vasiṣṭhena viśvāmitro mahā-matiḥ
kṛtam
ity abravīd rājā priya-vākyena me tvayā

evam = thus; uktaḥ = being addressed; vasiṣṭhena = by Vasiṣṭha; viśvāmitraḥ = Viśvāmitra; mahā-matiḥ = the greatly intelligent; kṛtam = have already done so; iti abravīt = said; rājā = king; priya-vākyena = through your pleasing words; me = to me; tvayā = You.

Being thus addressed by Vasiṣṭha, the greatly intelligent King Viśvāmitra said: You have already done so through your pleasing words to me.

Viśvāmitra intended to tell Vasiṣṭha, “You have already rendered us hospitality by your words expressing your desire to render us hospitality.”
