Chapter 52: Śabalā, Vasiṣṭha’s Wish-fulfilling Cow
Text 1.52.4-5

प्रतिगृह्य तु तां पूजां वसिष्ठाद्राजसत्तमः।
तपोऽग्निहोत्रशिष्येषु कुशलं पर्यपृच्छत॥

विश्वामित्रो महातेजा वनस्पतिगणे तदा।
सर्वत्र कुशलं चाह वसिठो राजसत्तमम्॥

pratigṛhya tu tāṁ pūjāṁ vasiṣṭhād rāja-sattamaḥ
tapo-’gnihotra-śiṣyeṣu
kuśalaṁ paryapṛcchata

viśvāmitro mahā-tejā vanaspati-gaṇe tadā
sarvatra
kuśalaṁ cāha vasiṭho rāja-sattamam

pratigṛhya tu = having accepted; tām pūjām = honor; vasiṣṭhāt = Vasiṣṭha’s; rāja-sattamaḥ = that foremost of monarchs; tapaḥ-agnihotra-śiṣyeṣu = of his austerity, fire sacrifices, disciples; kuśalam = the welfare; paryapṛcchata = then asked about; viśvāmitraḥ = Viśvāmitra; mahā-tejāḥ = of great prowess; vanaspati-gaṇe = and trees; tadā sarvatra kuśalam = that all were fine; ca = thereupon Vasiṣṭha; āha = told; vasiṣṭhaḥ = Vasiṣṭha; rāja-sattamam = that best of kings Viśvāmitra.

Having accepted Vasiṣṭha’s honor, that foremost of monarchs, Viśvāmitra of great prowess, then asked Vasiṣṭha about the welfare of his austerity, fire sacrifices, disciples and trees. Thereupon Vasiṣṭha told that best of kings, Viśvāmitra, that all were fine.
