Chapter 53: Śabalā Feeds King Viśvāmitra and his Entourage
Text 1.53.14

अस्यां हव्यं च कव्यं च प्राणयात्रा तथैव च।
आयत्तमग्निहोत्रं च बलिर्होमस्तथैव च॥

asyāṁ havyaṁ ca kavyaṁ ca prāṇa-yātrā tathaiva ca
āyattam
agnihotraṁ ca balir homas tathaiva ca

Bhūta-yajña refers to “offerings to the creatures.”1

1 Every brāhmaṇa in Vedic civilization is expected to perform five sacrifices daily: (a) brahma-yajña: to honor the Supreme Being by studying and teaching of Vedic scriptures, (b) deva-yajña: to honor demigods by offering them appropriate offerings, (c) pitṛ-yajña: to honor forefathers by offering them appropriate offerings, (d) nṛ-yajña: to honor human beings with food, and (e) bhūta-yajña: to honor other creatures with food.
