Chapter 54: Śabalā Attacks King Viśvāmitra’s Army
Text 1.54.16
नियुङ्क्ष्व मां महातेजस्त्वद्ब्रह्मबलसम्भृताम्।
तस्य दर्पबलं यत्तन्नाशयामि दुरात्मनः॥
niyuṅkṣva māṁ mahā-tejas tvad-brahma-bala-sambhṛtām
tasya darpa-balaṁ yat tan nāśayāmi durātmanaḥ
niyuṅkṣva mām = engage me; mahā-tejaḥ = O sage of great prowess; tvad-brahma-bala-sambhṛtām = for my efficacy has been enhanced by the power of the mantras chanted by you; tasya = that; darpa-balam = pride and power; yat tat = the; nāśayāmi = I will destroy; durātmanaḥ = of wicked soul.
O sage of great prowess, engage me for my efficacy has been enhanced by the power of the mantras chanted by you. I will destroy the pride and power of that wicked soul.
