बलं भग्नं ततो दृष्ट्वा रथेनाक्रम्य कौशिकः।
स राजा परमक्रुद्धः क्रोधविस्फारितेक्षणः।
पप्लवान्नाशयामास शस्त्रैरुच्चावचैरपि॥

sa rājā parama-kruddhaḥ krodha-visphāritekṣaṇaḥ
paplavān nāśayām āsa śastrair uccāvacair api
balam = his army; bhagnam = crushed; tataḥ dṛṣṭvā = seeing; rathena = on a chariot; ākramya = climbed; kauśikaḥ saḥ = the son of Kuśika; rājā = the king; parama-kruddhaḥ = was extremely angry; krodha-visphārita-īkṣaṇaḥ = his eyes expanded in anger; paplavān = the paplavas; nāśayām āsa = he destroyed; śastraiḥ ucca-avacaiḥ api = with various weapons.
Seeing his army crushed, the son of Kuśika climbed on a chariot. The king was extremely angry, his eyes expanded in anger. With various weapons, he destroyed the paplavas.
