Chapter 55: King Viśvāmitra Obtains Divine Weapons
Text 1.55.15
एवमुक्तस्तु देवेन विश्वामित्रो महातपाः।
प्रणिपत्य महादेवं इदं वचनमब्रवीत्॥
evam uktas tu devena viśvāmitro mahā-tapāḥ
praṇipatya mahādevaṁ idaṁ vacanam abravīt
evam uktaḥ tu devena = being thus addressed by the Lord; viśvāmitraḥ = Viśvāmitra; mahā-tapāḥ = the greatly austere; praṇipatya = bowed down; mahādevam = to Mahādeva; idam = the following; vacanam = words; abravīt = and spoke.
Being thus addressed by the Lord, the greatly austere Viśvāmitra bowed down to Mahādeva and spoke the following words.
