Chapter 55: King Viśvāmitra Obtains Divine Weapons
Text 1.55.7
ते साश्वरथपादाता वसिष्ठेन महात्मना।
भस्मीकृता मुहूर्तेन विश्वामित्रसुतास्तदा॥
te sāśva-ratha-pādātā vasiṣṭhena mahātmanā
bhasmīkṛtā muhūrtena viśvāmitra-sutās tadā
te = the; sa-aśva-ratha-pādātāḥ = as well as their horses, chariots and infantry; vasiṣṭhena = Vasiṣṭha; mahā-ātmanā = by the great soul; bhasmīkṛtāḥ = were reduced to ashes; muhūrtena = in a moment; viśvāmitra-sutāḥ tadā = sons of Viśvāmitra.
In a moment, the sons of Viśvāmitra as well as their horses, chariots and infantry were reduced to ashes by the great soul Vasiṣṭha.
