Chapter 55: King Viśvāmitra Obtains Divine Weapons

दृष्ट्वा विनाशितान्पुत्रान्बलं च सुमहायशाः।
सव्रीडश्चिन्तयाविष्टो विश्वामित्रोऽभवत्तदा॥
dṛṣṭvā vināśitān putrān balaṁ ca sumahā-yaśāḥ
savrīḍaś cintayāviṣṭo viśvāmitro ‘bhavat tadā
dṛṣṭvā vināśitān putrān = upon seeing his sons destroyed; balam ca = and army; sumahā-yaśāḥ = the greatly famous; savrīḍaḥ = ashamed; cintayā-āviṣṭaḥ = and overwhelmed in thought; viśvāmitraḥ = Viśvāmitra; abhavat tadā = became.
Upon seeing his sons and army destroyed, the greatly famous Viśvāmitra became ashamed and overwhelmed in thought.
