Chapter 56: King Viśvāmitra Decides to Become a Brāhmaṇa
Text 1.56.21
निगृहीतस्त्वाय ब्रह्मन्विश्वामित्रो महाबलः।
प्रसीद जपतां श्रेष्ठ लोकाः सन्तु गतव्यथाः॥
nigṛhītas tvāya brahman viśvāmitro mahā-balaḥ
prasīda japatāṁ śreṣṭha lokāḥ santu gata-vyathāḥ
nigṛhītaḥ = has been subdued; tvāya = by you; brahman = O brāhmaṇa; viśvāmitraḥ = Viśvāmitra; mahā-balaḥ = the greatly powerful; prasīda = Please calm down; japatām = of mantra reciters; śreṣṭha = O best; lokāḥ = the worlds; santu = let be; gata-vyathāḥ = free from pain.
O brāhmaṇa, the greatly powerful Viśvāmitra has been subdued by you. Please calm down, O best of mantra reciters. Let the worlds be free from pain.
