Text 1.59.11
श्रुत्वा ते वचनं सर्वे समायान्ति द्विजातयः।
सर्वदेशेषु चागच्छन्वर्जयित्वा महोदयम्॥
śrutvā te vacanaṁ sarve samāyānti dvijātayaḥ
sarva-deśeṣu cāgacchan varjayitvā mahodayam
śrutvā te vacanam = hearing your message; sarve = all; samāyānti = are assembling; dvijātayaḥ = the twice-born; sarva-deśeṣu ca = from all lands; āgacchan = to come here; varjayitvā = except; mahodayam = Mahodaya Ṛṣi [and the hundred sons of Vasiṣṭha].
Hearing your message, all the twice-born from all lands, except Mahodaya Ṛṣi [and the hundred sons of Vasiṣṭha], are assembling to come here.
1 By principles of normal etiquette within societies that adhered to Vedic dharma, it is not acceptable to transmit criticism of superiors, especially irrational criticism of superiors.
Viśvāmitra had ordered his disciples to speak everything spoken by the sages they met, even their words of criticism. Therefore, they reported [the criticism of Mahodaya Ṛṣi and the sons of Vasiṣṭha].1
