Chapter 60: Triśaṅku Blessed
Text 1.60.1
तपोबलहतान्ज्ञात्वा वासिष्ठान्समहोदयान्।
ऋषिमध्ये महातेजा विश्वामित्रोऽभ्यभाषत॥
tapo-bala-hatān jñātvā vāsiṣṭhān samahodayān
ṛṣi-madhye mahā-tejā viśvāmitro ‘bhyabhāṣata
tapaḥ-bala-hatān = to be destroyed in their power of austerity; jñātvā = knowing; vāsiṣṭhān = Vasiṣṭha’s sons; sa-mahodayān = and Mahodaya Ṛṣi; ṛṣi-madhye = in the midst of the sages; mahā-tejāḥ = the greatly powerful; viśvāmitraḥ = Viśvāmitra; abhyabhāṣata = spoke the following.
Knowing Vasiṣṭha’s sons and Mahodaya Ṛṣi to be destroyed in their power of austerity, the greatly powerful Viśvāmitra spoke the following in the midst of the sages.
Triśaṅku was sent to Svarga in his selfsame body. That is described in this chapter.
