Bāla-kāṇḍa
Chapter 60: Triśaṅku Blessed
Text 1.60.10-11

ततः कालेन महता विश्वामित्रो महातपाः।
चकारावाहनं तत्र भागार्थं सर्वदेवताः॥

नाभ्यागमंस्तदाहूता भागार्थं सर्वदेवताः॥

tataḥ kālena mahatā viśvāmitro mahā-tapāḥ
cakārāvāhanaṁ
tatra bhāgārthaṁ sarva-devatāḥ

nābhyāgamaṁs tadāhūtā bhāgārthaṁ sarva-devatāḥ

tataḥ = then; kālena mahatā = after a long time; viśvāmitraḥ = Viśvāmitra; mahā-tapāḥ = the greatly austere; cakāra āvāhanam tatra = ceremoniously invited; bhāga-artham = to accept their respective shares; sarva-devatāḥ = all the demigods; na = but none; abhyāgaman = came; tadā āhūtāḥ = when invited; bhāga-artham = to accept their respective shares; sarva-devatāḥ = of the demigods.

Then, after a long time, the greatly austere Viśvāmitra ceremoniously invited all the demigods to accept their respective shares. But none of the demigods came when invited to accept their respective shares.

It took a long time because each mantra was repeated twice or thrice. The demigods did not come because they considered that a sacrifice conducted by a person ineligible to conduct it and that too in an improper manner is not a sacrifice [whose offerings are fit to be accepted by them].
