Chapter 61: Śunaḥśepa Sold
Text 1.61.16
ऋचीकस्य वचः श्रुत्वा तेषां माता महात्मनाम्।
उवाच नरशार्दूलमम्बरीषं तपस्विनी॥
ṛcīkasya vacaḥ śrutvā teṣāṁ mātā mahātmanām
uvāca nara-śārdūlam ambarīṣaṁ tapasvinī
ṛcīkasya = Ṛcīka’s; vacaḥ = words; śrutvā = hearing; teṣām = of those; mātā = mothe; mahā-ātmanām = the great souls; uvāca = spoke as follows; nara-śārdūlam = the tiger among men; ambarīṣam = to Ambarīṣa tapasvinī = austere.
Hearing Ṛcīka’s words, the austere mother of those great souls spoke to Ambarīṣa, the tiger among men, as follows.
