Chapter 62: Śunaḥśepa Saved
Text 1.62.23
तद् वाक्यम् ऋषिपुत्रस्य श्रुत्वा हर्षसमुत्सुकः।
जगाम नृपतिः शीघ्रं यज्ञवाटमतन्द्रितः॥
tad vākyam ṛṣi-putrasya śrutvā harṣa-samutsukaḥ
jagāma nṛ-patiḥ śīghraṁ yajña-vāṭam atandritaḥ
tat vākyam = those words; ṛṣi-putrasya = of the sage’s son; śrutvā = hearing; harṣa-samutsukaḥ = the king became delighted and enthusiastic; jagāma = reached; nṛ-patiḥ = the king; śīghram = quickly; yajña-vāṭam = the sacrificial arena; atandritaḥ = without being distracted.
Hearing those words of the sage’s son, the king became delighted and enthusiastic. Without being distracted, the king quickly reached the sacrificial arena.
