Canto 1 - Boyhood
Bāla-kāṇḍa
Chapter 62: Śunaḥśepa Saved
Text 1.62.26

ततः प्रीतः सहस्राक्षो रहस्यस्तुतितर्पितः।
दीर्घमायुस्तदा प्रादाच्छुनःशेपाय राघव॥

tataḥ prītaḥ sahasrākṣo rahasya-stuti-tarpitaḥ
dīrgham
āyus tadā prādāc chunaḥśepāya rāghava

tataḥ = then; prītaḥ = pleased; sahasrākṣaḥ = the thousand-eyed Indra; rahasya-stuti-tarpitaḥ = and satisfied by his confidential prayers; dīrgham = a long; āyuḥ = life; tadā prādāt śunaḥśepāya = bestowed to Śunaḥśepa; rāghava = O descendant of Raghu.

O descendant of Raghu, pleased and satisfied by his confidential prayers, the thousand-eyed Indra then bestowed a long life to Śunaḥśepa.

This verse reveals that Indra was the bestower of the results of Śunaḥśepa’s prayers. Indra was pleased that he had been glorified and satisfied by his confidential prayers to his master Lord Viṣṇu.
