Chapter 62: Śunaḥśepa Saved
Text 1.62.8
तस्य तद्वचनं श्रुत्वा विश्वामित्रो महातपाः।
सान्त्वयित्वा बहुविधं पुत्रानिदमुवाच ह॥
tasya tad vacanaṁ śrutvā viśvāmitro mahā-tapāḥ
sāntvayitvā bahu-vidhaṁ putrān idam uvāca ha
tasya tat vacanam śrutvā = hearing his words; viśvāmitraḥ = Viśvāmitra; mahā-tapāḥ = of great austerity; sāntvayitvā = consoled him; bahu-vidham = in many ways; putrān = to his sons; idam = as follows; uvāca ha = he then spoke.
Hearing his words, Viśvāmitra of great austerity consoled him in many ways. He then spoke to his sons as follows.
