Canto 1 - Boyhood
Bāla-kāṇḍa
Chapter 63: Viśvāmitra Falls Prey to Lust
Text 1.63.22

महर्षिशब्दमतुलं स्वार्जितैः कर्मभिः शुभैः।
यदि मे भगवानाह ततोऽहं विजितेन्द्रियः॥

maha-rṣi-śabdam atulaṁ svārjitaiḥ karmabhiḥ śubhaiḥ
yadi
me bhagavān āha tato ’haṁ vijitendriyaḥ

maha-rṣi-śabdam atulam = with the incomparable expression ‘maharṣi’; svārjitaiḥ karmabhiḥ śubhaiḥ = that is properly earned through auspicious activities; yadi = since; me = to me; bhagavān = Your Lordship; āha = has referred; tathā aham = I; vijita-indriyaḥ = am now firmly in control of my senses.

Since Your Lordship has referred to me with the incomparable expression ‘maharṣi’ that is properly earned through auspicious activities, I am now firmly in control of my senses.1

1 Yadi here should be understood to mean yataḥ. See Śrīmad-Bhagavatam 11.4.10 for a similar usage.
