Chapter 64: Viśvāmitra Falls Prey to Anger
Text 1.64.22
एवं वर्षसहस्रस्य दीक्षां स मुनिपुङ्गवः।
चकाराप्रतिमां लोके प्रतिज्ञां रघुनन्दन॥
evaṁ varṣa-sahasrasya dīkṣāṁ sa muni-puṅgavaḥ
cakārāpratimāṁ loke pratijñāṁ raghu-nandana
evam = thus; varṣa-sahasrasya = in a thousand years; dīkṣām saḥ = vow; muni-puṅgavaḥ = that best of sages; cakāra = made; apratimām = an unparalleled; loke = in the world; pratijñām = to fulfill his resolve; raghu-nandana = O beloved descendant of the Raghus.
O beloved descendant of the Raghus, that best of sages thus made a vow unparalleled in the world to fulfill his resolve in a thousand years.
