Chapter 64: Viśvāmitra Falls Prey to Anger

एवमुक्तस्तया राम रम्भया भीतया तदा।
तामुवाच सहस्राक्षो वेपमानां कृताञ्जलिम्॥
evam uktas tayā rāma rambhayā bhītayā tadā
tām uvāca sahasrākṣo vepamānāṁ kṛtāñjalim
evam uktaḥ tayā rāma rambhayā bhītayā tadā = O Rāma, when the frightened Rambhā had spoken thus; tām uvāca = spoke to her as follows; sahasra-akṣaḥ = the thousand-eyed Indra; vepamānām = while she was trembling; kṛta-añjalim = her palms joined in supplication.
O Rāma, when the frightened Rambhā had spoken thus, the thousand-eyed Indra spoke to her as follows while she was trembling, her palms joined in supplication.
