Chapter 65: Viśvāmitra Becomes a Brahmarṣi
Text 1.65.14
सम्मूढमिव त्रैलोक्यं सङ्क्षुभितमानसम्।
भास्करो निष्प्रभश्चैव महर्षेस्तस्य तेजसा॥
sammūḍham iva trailokyaṁ saṅkṣubhita-mānasam
bhāskaro niṣprabhaś caiva maha-rṣes tasya tejasā
sammūḍham iva = as if stupified; trailokyam = the three worlds are; saṅkṣubhita-mānasam = their minds violently shaken; bhāskaraḥ = the sun; niṣprabhaḥ = is lustreless; ca eva = and; maha-rṣeḥ = great sage; tasya = of that; tejasā = by the prowess.
The three worlds are as if stupified, their minds violently shaken, and the sun is lustreless by the prowess of that great sage.
